I am looking forward to our reunion next month.

I sit on Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan, looking at the beautiful beach and water that looks like the Caribbean.  Twelve grandchildren that tore the place up all summer are now gone, and it is awfully quiet.

I feel very lucky, fortunate, and appreciative of the journey life has given me.  Growing up in Darien, it was easy for us to expect to be CEOs of a major corporations; they were parents of classmates and all around us.  Well, that did not happen, but the journey has been wonderful.

While I attended three different schools in 3 different states, Darien has always been home. The water, NYC, the skiing in Vermont, the Barn, the sports of Darien, and the friendships! Such remarkable friendships that 14 of us have a Zoom call every two months to see how each other is doing.  And it’s not a surprise; some things do not change!

What a special place to grow up.  How lucky were we to be exposed to celebrities and the movers and shakers of America? I now find people outside the NYC area think these people only reside on TV or on the news.  We rubbed elbows with those people in our community and on our summer jobs every day.  We saw concerts in our auditorium that kids today could not imagine. And our fake IDs got us experiences in the big city we certainly grew from.

I look forward to being with those who can make our reunion.  It will be memorable in so many ways….

"While I will not be able to attend the festivities in September because of my physical condition, I think of you all often - with pleasant memories.  I am going to contribute a ticket in hopes that we can up our scholarship amount.  It's very important to me.  There are needy students in Darien as there are in Westport and it really makes a difference.     On a personal note, my husband who is a Justice of the Peace in CT, married our daughter and her fiance in my bedroom last fall so I could attend and this April our 9th grandchild was born, a boy with Patrick as his middle name. I am so fortunate as 7 of my grandchildren have been born since I was diagnosed with ALS on October 17, 2017. I'm sorry to miss the reunion, but I will be thinking of you.   Patty"

Thanks for putting together the 55th reunion.  I really enjoyed the 50th, however I will be unable to attend this one as we will be traveling. An update is that my permanent address is now Naples, FL although we spend summer and fall in NH.   To everyone attending the reunion, I hope you have a wonderful time! Sherry Julien Fulton

I'm looking forward to reconnecting with classmates in September 2023.  Seem like a long time away but it will fly by.  Put it on your calendar!  We'll see you there. SHOUT OUT!  I have decided to come out of retirement.  Due to the rampant inflation, my social security and pension checks don't go very far these days.  If you know of anyone that is looking for a remote copywriter, researcher, PR person, meeting/event planner or resumé writer, I'd appreciate a call at (203) 981-4648 or email me at ejjthomasjr@gmail.com.  Thanks!

Thanks so much for putting our 50th reunion together! It looks like it will be fantastic. I am looking down the list of those attending and see so many names...well, it just feels like I saw them this morning as I was walking down the hall to my next class. I am sorry that I cannot make it to the reunion. Have a terrific event, and post photos!
